Why we are building it
Many farmers lose yield because a tractor arrives late, the wrong fertiliser is used, or rain washes away a spray. Good advice and reliable help are hard to find at the right moment.
Machinery owners and farm hands also struggle: jobs are scattered, travel is expensive, and payment is not always certain.
CultivaNode brings farmers, equipment and skilled hands together, with plans and records that make every season a little more predictable.
Built in Nigeria, starting in the South-West
Our pilot runs with farming communities in Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Ondo, Ekiti and Lagos, in both the rainforest belt and the derived savanna. Field agents help farmers get started, even without a smartphone. Our long-term mission is connected farming infrastructure for Africa.
Why the name?
Cultiva is cultivation: growing food and running a farm. A node is a connected point in a network. Every farm, farmer, machine, service provider and market is a node. CultivaNode connects them, so the information around your farm turns into practical decisions.
